Richard Olen Ellis, son of Leonard Olen Ellis and Lucille (Bevard) Welcher was born July 17, 1943 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Clarke County Hospital at 72 years of age. Richard received his education in Garden Grove and Osceola graduating in 1961. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann (Fouche) Critz on June 20, 1987 at Creston, Iowa. Richard worked as an automobile mechanic, and in maintenance for CCB Packaging in Cedar Rapids, IA. He loved to spend time with his family, and enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing poker with the guys and fishing. He was a member of Osceola Eagles Aerie #3495. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Joey Ellis. Richard leaves to cherish his memory: spouse, Patricia Ann Ellis of Osceola, IA; daughter, Julie (Bret) Rhodes of Hiawatha, IA; son, Donny Ellis (friend Mary) of Anamosa, IA; daughter-in-law, Becky Ellis of Marion, IA; stepdaughter, Tonya Hauser of Eldora, IA; stepson, Kelly (Polli) Critz of Orient, IA; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Joy (John) Hughes of Citrus Heights, CA; Joan (Paul) Stuart of New Virginia, IA; brother-in-law, Gary (Merrie) Fouche of Indianola, IA as well as many nieces and nephews.
