| Note | Irma Mae Chestnut, 90, of Davenport, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Kahl Home for the Aged in Davenport.
Burial in Davenport Memorial Park.
Irma was born on September 7, 1922 in Davenport, the daughter of John Frederick and Cora (Anderson) Fickel. In 1942 in Kahoka, MO, she married O B Chestnut. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2002.
Irma spent the last 25 years of her life living in Cape Coral, FL, returning to Davenport within the last year. She worked as a secretary for Grant Wood Elementary School in Bettendorf. Irma's past memberships included the Pilot Club and the Order of Eastern Star in Bettendorf. She was past Commodore of the Sportsman's Yacht Club in Cape Coral, FL. Irma enjoyed gardening, bowling and traveling. She was Presbyterian by faith.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Linda (Johnny) Wooten of Davenport and Jeff (Jolene) Chestnut of Bettendorf; ten grandchildren, Meghan, Mike, Jake, Ben, John, Sheeny, Jennifer, Angie, Les and Chris; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter, Peggy Williams. |
