He was a Blacksmith by trade and he worked out of Farmer's Village, Seneca co New york.
He enlisted in the Co, G Rig't N.Y. Cavalry, 1 August, 1863, He served as a blacksmith. On March 19, 1865 he was taken prisoner. On the 7 of June 1865 he mustered out of the Cavalry.
He wa 21 years old and he was 6 ft. 9in. had light complexion and blue eyes and sandy hair but when he was mustered out he was a shell of a man, had a lot of health problems. He became the Towns Drunk, his wife left him and his son would not come and see him.
He got a big sum of $8.00 a month for his pension and being a prisoner of war..As for his ailmensts he had a Herina ang piles and Lummbago. |
