THIS HAS BEEN A VERY HARD FAMILY TO TRACE. BECAUSE MAINLY THE FATHER WAS GONE FROM HOME MOST OF THE TIME. IT IS SAID TAHT HE WAS A SLAVE TRADER NOW I HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING THAT WILL VERIFY THAT FACT THEN THE MOTHER DIED AT A EARY AGE SO IT WAS THE OLDER BROTHER JAMES AND HIS WIFE BETSY WHO TOOK CARE OF THE CHILDREN BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ALL GOT ALONG VERY WELL. JAMES WILLIAM THE SR WAS ALSO A BLACKSMITH ANT THAT FORM OF TRADE SURE FOLLOWED THE FAMILY LIFE OFF ALL THE PATTERSON MALES AFTER HIS WIFE DIED AND HS WONDERING DAYS WERE OVER HE SETTLED DOWN IN DRYDEN NEW YORK HE WAS THERE IN 150 AND HAD A 5 ACRE FARM IN LANSING NEW YORK 1866 TO 68 HE DIED MARCH 23 1866 IN LANSING NEW YORK HIS OLDEST SON JAMES HAD A FARM NEXT DOOR TO HIS FARM THE SENIOR PATTERSON WAS LAID TO REST IN MILLERS CEMETARY DRYDEN NEW YORK AT THE AGE OF 72 YRS OLIVE HIS WIFE WAS BORN IN NEW HAVEN CONN SHE WAS 53 WHEN SHE DIED AND WAS LAID TO REST IN THE OLD PRESBYTRIAN CEMETARY IN DRYDEN NEW YORK I HAVE FOUND OUT VERY LITTLE ABOUT HER FAMILY. THE IS LITTLEMORE I CAN SAY ABOUT THEM UNTIL i FIND THE BOOK ONE THE GENEALOGY.. I WISH I COULD FIND IT FOR A LOT OF SPECULATION IS IN THIS WORK BUT THE PART I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET TOGETHER IS RIGHT AND PROVEN SOURCES OF INFORMATIO VITAL RECORD COMMUNITY CLERK OFFICE OF ITHACA NEW YORK CENSES RECORDS 1850 HE WAS CLASSIFIED AS A LABOUR, 63 YRS BORN MARYLAND HE WAS LIVING ON A FRAM 5 ACRES IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY THERE WERE A LOT OF JUNK ON HIM SOME PEOPLE SAY HE WAS A SLVE TRADER, BUT I FOUND NO RECORDS OR ITEMS TO SAY THIS IS A FACT IF I EVER DO I WILL LET EVERY ONE KNOW WHEN WE GET TO OLIVE SHE HAS MORE RECORDED INFO [William Carman.FTW] This has been a very hard family to trace. Because mainly the father was gone form home most of the time. It is said that he was a slave trader, now I have not found anything that will verify that...fact, then the mother died at a early age..So it was the older brother James and his wife Betsy who took care of the children,But it seems like they all got along very well. James William the Sr. was also a Blacksmith and that form of trade sure followed the family life off all the Patterson's males...After his wifes died and his wondering days were over he settled down in Dryden New York, he was there in 1850, And he had a 5 acrer farm in Lansing N.Y. 1866 to 68. he died the 23 March 1866 in Lansing New York, His oldest son James had a farm next door to his farm.. The senior Patterson was laid to rest in Miller's cemetery, Dryden, New York at the age of 72 Olive his wife was born in New Haven Conn. She was 53 when she died, and was laid to rest in the Old Presbytrian, Cemetery in Dryden, New York. I have found out very little about her family. There islittle more I can say about them until I find the Book one their Geneology . I wish I could find it for a lot of speculation is in this work..But the part I have been able to but together is right and proven. Sources of information Vital Record conunty clerk office of Ithaca New York Cenus records--1850 He was classified as a labour, 63 yrs. born in Maryland He was living on a farm 5 acres on Livingston co. There were alot of junk on Him. Some people said he was a Slave trader..But I found no records or items to say this was a fact.If I ever do I will let ever one know..When we get to Olive she has morerecorded info.
