[William Carman.FTW] John (3) patterson See Foxs History of Dunstable Mass, I have thus found no more records on him and presume he died young. James(2}-He was pro a resident of Billerica till 1707. In 1711 he was a resident of Sunstable, and remained there till 1716 When he moved to Gorton where he resided the remainder of his life. He drew Lot #44 in Narragansett # 6(now Templeton) as a represenlative of his father, for his service in "KIngs Philips War," in 1675 or 1676. The time of his death is not known but he was still alive on the 6th day of Nov 1735 and mortgaged his Narragansett lot to Samuel Belknap, of Woburn and on the 20 March, 1738 Belknap excuted a deed of released of the same lot to Joseph Patterson of Watertown in which dee he mentions James Patterson as" Late of Gorton deceased", But a small amount of that mortgage was still in existened in 1892. The dat, signature and descipton are gone, but on the back of what remains is an indorsement of the date when recoreded 10 Jan 1737\8. His wife survived him as 27 aug 1739 she and her children are named in a deed of the same property to Joseph Patterson of Watertown in which the grantors were described as Mary Patterson Widow, "James Patterson, Jonathan Patterson and Hezeikiah Patterson, Laboures all of the town of Gorton in the county of Middlesex in New England and Mary Patterson of Watertown in ye county aforesaid spinster", These I inagne to be the widow and children of James Patterson mentioned by Butler in his history of Gorton James (2) was in Kings Philips War" in 1675 \9
