Erwin A. Jones, age 91, of Minnesota Lake, MN, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Country Neighbors Home in Mapleton. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 3-6 PM at Peace UCC Church in Minnesota Lake with Prayer Service at 5:00 P.M. and visitation continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday with Rosary at 9:30 A.M. Father Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Minnesota Lake, MN.
Erwin Jones was born on October 29, 1916 in Mapleton, MN, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Jaeger) Jones. He completed school through the 8th grade. He worked for the Winnebago Canning factory and Super Sweet as a truck driver. He married Marion C. Stencel in 1952 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. He became a dairy farmer and farmed north of Wells for over 20 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He enjoyed motorcycling and traveling by car, dancing and playing cards and entertaining his grandchildren on his mini bike.
He is survived by: his wife Marion C. Jones of Minnesota Lake; three sons and two daughters: Mary Jones Olson of Lake Crystal, MN, Charles (Kris) Jones of Hollywood, FL, Helen (Lloyd) Mitchell of Mapleton, Tom (Amy) Jones of Wells and Pat (Janet) Jones of Wells; 9 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren and two more on the way; Brother: Harold Jones of Mankato; Sister: Loretta Obitz of Phoenix, AZ, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Gertrude Jones, one sister-in-law Dorothy Jones and one brother-in-law Fred Obitz Sr. |
