Star Tribune Minneapolis 08/02/2009 Overby, Norris L. age 84, of Edina, died July 29 after a long illness. Norris was born Sept. 2, 1924 in Cherry Grove Twp in Goodhue County, son of Nels and Luella (Friese) Overby. He was baptized and confirmed at Dale Lutheran Church of rural Kenyon and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1941. He also resided at Skyberg, Freeborn, Eau Claire and Edina. He married Eunice Staloch on July 14, 1951 in Wells, MN. He joined Paine Webber in 1961, was also a stock broker with Sherson Hammill, Eastman Dillon and Pagel, Inc. Multiple Sclerosis forced his retirement in 1986. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice in 2007 and sister, Deenie Olds in 2008. He is survived by 2 daughters, Ellen (Jon) Semerau and Mary (Wesley) Torsch; 3 sons, Nicholas (Diane), Jonathan and Robert (Kathleen); grandchildren, Nathan (Nicole), Andrew Overby, Max and Emily Semerau, Paige and Morgan Overby, Michael and Mackenzie Torsch, Jack and Madeline Overby; great-grandsons, Jonah and Henry Overby. Funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 3, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour before at Normandale Lutheran Church, 6100 Normandale Road, Edina. Private interment Resurrection Cemetery of Mendota Heights. He maintained his humor and wit to the end.
