Schones, Helen (4/5/2006) Helen T. Schones, age 77, of Columbia Heights, MN, formerly of Wabasha, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. She was born February 6, 1929, in Wabasha, the daughter of John and Vera (McClarney) Stiever. She was a graduate of St. Felix High School. She married Robert Schones of Wabasha in 1960 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. The couple lived in Columbia Heights and she worked for a few years as a bookkeeper for Reserve Supply in St. Paul until the birth of their son. Helen is survived by her husband, Robert Schones, Columbia Heights, MN; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Roseanne Schones, Hanover, NH; two granddaughters, Brittany and Michaela Schones; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lucille Stiever, Caledonia, MN. Her parents, one brother, Frank Stiever, and one sister, Margaret Stiever, preceded her in death. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 11:00am at St. Felix Catholic Church with the Reverend William Kulas officiating. Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery. Friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Wednesday from 5-8pm where there will be a Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 4:30pm. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday one hour before the service. The Abbott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
